# Versioning

> Compatibility and upgrade strategy

## Current status

The Agent API is currently versioned by documentation and behavior updates
rather than explicit URL versioning.

## Compatibility expectations

* Backward-compatible changes should not break existing integrations.
* Deprecations should be announced ahead of time.
* If breaking changes are introduced, a new version should be documented.

## Recommendation

If you run a production integration, pin your behavior to the documented
version and track release notes from your Neuron operator.
